Jeans and pants are one of the less popular items to buy online and it’s all down to fit. The following tips will help you feel more confident about buying jeans online that are guaranteed to fit you well.
1. Know your measurements – make sure you have taken good measurements. The best way to do this is to have a pair of your favourite jeans on hand and measure the inseam, waist, rise, and leg opening so that you can compare them to the measurements of the new pair you are looking at buying.
2. Check the measurements of the product. Preloved clothes have typically been worn and washed. This means that they may have relaxed due to wear or have shrunk slightly from washing. The measurements of the individual products need to be compared to your own measurements to ensure a good fit. The inside leg measurement will give you an idea of how long the jeans are, the rise will indicate how far up they sit on your hips, and the cuff measurements indicate how tight they’ll be around your ankles. Do not just go by the size 8,10,16 etc as this is not the most reliable measure.
3. Know your fabrics. Jeans are not just cotton, the fabric composition may include elastane or spandex for stretch. Make sure you read the details on fabric to ensure you are getting what you want.
4. Go with your favourite brands. If you have a pair of jeans you love and that fit well, then look for the same brand when you buy your next pair. This will increase the chance of buying a good fit and quality product.
